Munich. E. A. Fleischmann. 1821–1830
Early nineteenth century architecture and gardening periodical with a Royal provenance.
The periodical deals with all aspects of gardening and architectural construction in Munich, including town houses, town planning, church architecture, various museums and large-scale municipal buildings. The detailed architectural drawings are noteworthy as records of period architecture.
The periodical appears to have been the work of Gustav Vorherr (1773 - 1857), an architect who among other works, extended the area of Munich's southern cemetery in the early nineteenth century.
[PROVENANCE: From the library of Louis XVIII (1755 - 1824) with a small circular stamp to first printed title: 'BIBLIOTHEQUE DU ROI / PALAIS ROYAL'].
