'For a time, the journal Art-Language served (or was intended to serve) as the primary expression, artistic or otherwise, of the art collective Art & Langauge and its important roster of contributors - Terry Atkinson, Michael Baldwin, David Bainbridge and others.
'The editorial board of Art-Language underwent a final expansion in 1971 with the addition of two of Baldwin's former students from the Coventry College of Art, Philip Pilkington and David Rushton, whose journal, Analytical Art was effectively subsumed by Art-Language in 1972.' [Aarons & Roth - In Numbers. Serial Publications by Artists since 1955, pp. 70-77].
Thus Analytical Art ran only to these two issues, and remains one of the scarce early documents of Art & Language. The magazine shares A&L's interest in language and theory.
