Broodthaers abandoned his studies in chemistry to take up literature, and in the 1950s published poems in Belgian Surrealist magazines. 'Mon livre d'ogre' was his first collection of poems, and first published book. He was to abandon poetry as well, finding it not profitable enough for his taste, and then adopted his famous artistic approach that parodied business.
This book is limited to 183 copies, (in the first 33 copies the lithograph is signed by Vandercam). One of 150 copies on Velin, this copy is unnumbered. Ownership inscription on half title.
