116 Particolari visibili e misurabili di INFINITO
Anselmo, Giovanni
Turin. Galleria Sperone. 1975

A crystalline example of the idea of a work of art as a book. The work opens with several completely black pages which gradually become partly and then completely white. Details of the Infininte word, enlarged beyond the limits of legibility, draws the reader into an attempt at defining the concept of Infinity by bringing into play visual and metaphysical elements. Anselmo it is who, in his introduction to the book, provides the key to understanding the work, and specifies that This book is the first part of a work which will be developed in later editions, alongside a parallel work involving pencil drawings, begun by the artist in 1969. In other words, he suggests the idea of continually repeating a work which starts with details and moves out to infinity.
