This is the first edition of Frénaud's poem 'Le Chemin des Devins' dedicated to Georges Borgeaud; 'Ménerbes' had appeared previouly in the 1962 collection 'Il n'y a pas de paradis' published by Gallimard. Chillida's etchings were printed by Maeght Editeur and the typography for the book was by Fequet et Baudier.

Also with an uninked etching as issued to the front wrapper. Sheet size: 346 x 295 mm. Full black straight-grained crushed morocco by Devauchelle with his signature gilt, boards with rectangular gilt tooling and gilt outlined matching café crème crushed morocco-surrounded panels with elaborate abstract décor after Chillida, smooth spine with argent pointilles and titles gilt, marbled paper doublures and endpapers, original publisher's cream paper wrappers with uninked relief engraving to front cover and original backstrip preserved, a.e.g., velvet-lined black straight-grained morocco-edged handmade paper board chemise.
