'Tzara keeps on worrying about the periodical. My proposal to call it Dada is accepted. We could take turns at editing, and a general editorial staff could assign one member the job of selection and layout for each issue. Dada is 'yes, yes' in Romanian, rocking horse in French. For germans, it is a sign of foolish naivete, joy in procreation, and preoccupation with the baby carriage.' (Hugo Ball).

'Dada Intirol, the last number, a simple folded sheet, marks the conjunction of Paris, Cologne and Zurich. Published from Tarrenz, in the Austrian Tyrol, after an agitated dada season in Paris, it is relaxed and humorous. It contains Ernst's collage 'The preparation of glue from bones', and two free ink drawings by Arp [one is signed in pencil in the present example]. It also contains comic and ambiguous suggestions of objects as 'gifts' ... But nit also shows signs of the quarrels that were rending Dada in Paris, and marks the end of the movement as Tzara had understood it.' (Dada and Surrealism Reviewed, pg. 63).
