From the edition limited to 100 numbered copies, this copy signed by Schmied to the justification, with an additional suite in colour on Japon, two original gouaches and a series of annotated proofs; ten additional 'exemplaires de collaborateurs' numbered in Roman numerals were also issued.
This exceptional copy includes two original watercolours, each signed by Schmied in pencil, together with a suite of the 52 woodcuts in colour on Japon, a suite of 7 proof plates on Japon, each signed, and an additional proof, signed and annotated by Schmied.

Half-title in bistre, justification verso, printed title in bistre and black with Schmied's wood-engraved vignette and Morand's text illustrated with 72 compositions by François-Louis Schmied, wood-engravings of which 58 are in colour and 13 in black and white, 'Table des Matières' and final leaf with achevé d'imprimer. Loose as issued in original publisher's wrappers with title in blind to front wrapper, blue board chemise and slipcase.
