The édition de tête of 'The Pocket Picasso' - the facsimile of Picasso's gift for Marcel Duhamel -with the original signed engraving.
From the edition limited to 850 copies, with this one of 100 copies from the édition de tête with an original signed etching by Picasso, and one of 50 from the English edition; the 750 ordinary copies were also divided into English and French editions.
Picasso's original burin engraving, 'Peintre et Modèle', is printed on vélin d'Auvergne and is signed in blue ink and numbered from the edition of 100 in Roman numerals; the engraving was printed by Crommelynck, Paris.
The text and typography was by Imprimerie Union and the facsimile notebook by Daniel Jacomet, both in Paris.
'Picasso decorated a little notebook similar to the one he had used for the Carnet de la Tauromaquia ... Duhamel states that it was Picasso himself who encouraged him several years later, to publish the notebook.' (Patrick Cramer).
