The posthumous homage to Iliazd (1894 - 1975), conceived and executed by Hélène Iliazd, in collaboration with Ania Straritsky and Eugène Guillevic, with an unpublished poem by Iliazd and illustrations by Staritsky. The text, the original Russian of Iliazd translated by Guillevic, is of a part of Iliazd's unpublished poem on the Spanish civil war.
This long poem was inspired by Iliazd's experiences of the Spanish civil war: 'Les blessures russes sont peut-être cicatrisées mais la plaie espagnole est toujours béante. Elle m’a retourné vers la poésie et j’ai commencé à écrire Brigadnyj.' (Iliazd, p. 64).
The complete manuscript of 200 verses was given by Iliazd to his friend Prince Gleb Eristioff, in 1943, a Georgian emigre like himself
