Edition of 600 copies including 50 on Arches with a screenprint frontispiece by Dubuffet and six etchings by Parant in 3 signed dyptichs (the first 5 with an additional 'boule bibliophage dévorant le livre'), 50 hors commerce 'réservés à l'auteur et à l'éditeur' and 500 on vergé teinté ivoire; copy numbered 'HC. VIII' in red ink on the justification and with the silkscreen frontispiece by Dubuffet numbered 'VIII / X / HC' and initialled 'J. D. 75'.
Webel cites the first ten hors commerce copies - as here - as conforming to the édition de tête of 50 copies and including both Dubuffet's frontispiece and Parant's etchings; Dubuffet's screenprint was printed in a total edition of 60 copies.

Monochrome screenprint frontispiece by Dubuffet ('Page de Visages'), half-title, printed title, leaf with dedication and Parant's text illustrated with 6 original etchings by Parant (printed on three bifolia as diptychs) in green and 29 monochrome illustrations, final leaf with achevé d'imprimer and justification recto only. Loose as issued in original publisher's printed wrappers with flaps, printed titles to front cover and spine in black and purple, illustration by Parant to front and rear covers.
